English Premier League club Nottingham Forest has set its sights on Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku, as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
The 28-year-old Strasbourg star has reportedly received a formal offer from Forest, according to French media outlet L'Équipe.
Nottingham Forest, who narrowly avoided relegation last season in the English top-flight and recently parted ways with Ghana captain Andre Ayew, are keen to strengthen their team during the summer transfer window.
Djiku's contract with Strasbourg is set to expire at the end of this month, making him an attractive target as a free agent. However, Strasbourg, who had Djiku as their captain last season, are determined to retain the defender following a recent investment by BlueCo, the owners of Chelsea Football Club.
In addition to Nottingham Forest, Djiku has also drawn interest from other clubs, including Lille, Besiktas, and Mainz. The race to secure his signature is heating up as clubs vie for the talented Ghanaian's services.
