Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah opened his goal-scoring account in this season's UEFA Europa League when Olympique Lyon defeated Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening.

Olympique Lyon kept their Europa League progression hopes intact with a 3-2 comeback win over the German Bundesliga side at the Groupama Stadium.

German-born of Ghanaian descent, Ansgar Knauff opened the scoring for Eintracht Frankfurt with a cool finish in the 18th minute before Rayan Cherki levelled the score in the 27th minute of the game.

In the second half, Lyon took advantage after just five minutes from the break through Belgian international Malick Fofona before the third was added by the former Right to Dream Academy graduate.

Nuamah brilliantly extended the lead for the French giants with a spectacular goal in the 54th minute courtesy of a pass from Rayan Cherki.

An 85th-minute goal from Omar Marmoush for Frankfurt was not enough to hand them a point at the Groupama Stadium.

Nuamah has netted one goal and provided an assist in 14 game outings for Olympique Lyon in the ongoing season so far.
