Former Ghana youth international Eric Ayiah has made a move to Portuguese third-tier side CD Trofense after parting ways with Gil Vicente, Sportsworldghana.com report.
Ayiah has committed to a two-year contract with Liga Portuga 3 outfit CD Trofense, aiming to secure a spot in the first team for the 2023/24 season.
His stint at Gil Vicente, which began last summer, was primarily aimed at gaining first-team experience. However, Ayiah found himself without those opportunities and decided to terminate his contract with the club.
During the previous season, the 23-year-old displayed his goal-scoring prowess, netting 12 goals and providing three assists in 24 appearances for Gil Vicente U23s in the U23 Taca Revelacao.
Eric Ayiah's contract with Trofense is in effect until the summer of 2025. He has encountered challenges in his quest for top-flight football following his standout performances at the 2017 FIFA World Cup, which led to his signing with AS Monaco.
