Swedish Allsvenskan side IF Elfsborg has announced the signing of Ghana youth international Rufai Mohammed from Inter Allies on a long-term contract.
Mohammed has joined the Yellow and Black lads on a four-year contract from the Ghanaian third-tier campaigners after impressing the club's technical handlers during a trial period.
The 18-year-old, who captained the Black Starlets team at the last edition of the WAFU Zone B competition held in Ghana, has arrived in Sweden to begin life at IF Elfsborg.
The club's official statement reads, “IF Elfsborg are delighted to welcome Ghanaian center-back Rufai Mohammed, who joins from Inter Allies FC. Rufai has signed a contract through the 2028 season.”
He becomes the lastest player from Inter Allies to seal a move to Jalal Abdulai and IF Elfsborg after having Terry Yegbe and Michael Baidoo also in their fold.
Rufai Mohammed expressed his delight after completing the switch, hoping to become a big figure in football at IF Elfsborg.
“I am very happy to be here. The people I have met in and around the team are amazing and very helpful,” he told the club's official website.
Mohammed Rufai was part of the Ghana U17 team that finished third at the last edition of the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys tournament in Cape Coast, Ghana.
