The talented midfielder is on the verge of sealing a move to the Rajko Mitic Stadium outfit in the ongoing summer transfer window, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.
Ghana international Edmund Addo is set to complete a sensational switch from FC Sheriff Tiraspol to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.
The 22-year-old enforcer, who has two years left on his contract at Moldovan top-tier side FC Sheriff, is expected to sign a multi-year contract to join Red Star Belgrade this summer.
Addo emerged as a top transfer target for the Red and White lads following his scintillating performance in the Moldovan Super Liga and last season's UEFA Champions League for FC Sheriff Tiraspol.
Kickgh.com understands that Red Star Belgrade will be paying a transfer fee around the region of €1.5million euros to secure the signature of the 22-year-old midfielder, who has been absent from FC Sheriff Tiraspol's campaign this season following his decision to leave the club.
He has managed to make 33 appearances in all competitions for FC Sheriff Tiraspol with a goal and two assists to his credit, since his arrival at the club from Slovenian side FK Senica in July 2021.
His explosive performance at FC Sheriff Tiraspol earned him a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana where he made a debut appearance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Addo has capped eight times for Ghana so far.
