The French Ligue 1 returnees are in advanced talks with Wolfsberger AC for the possible acquisition of the exciting attacking midfielder in this summer transfer window, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.

Ghanaian young forward Augustine Boakye is on the verge of sealing a sensational move to French side AS Saint-Étienne from Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC.

Kickgh.com can exclusively reveal that AS Saint-Étienne have reached an agreement with the Austrian top-tier club for the signing of the 23-year-old for a transfer fee of five million euros (€5 million).

The former WAFA talismanic attacker is expected to arrive in France on Wednesday to undergo a mandatory medical examination to finalize the switch. Boakye has been a delight to watch since arriving at Wolfsberger AC from Ghanaian side West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC in 2021.

His explosive performances in the Austrian Bundesliga have attracted a strong interest from AS Saint-Étienne, and the deal is expected to be sealed in the coming days.

In the just-concluded season, the former Ghana U20 star notched up 10 goals and provided six assists in 27 matches for Wolfsberger AC.

Boakye has scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions for Wolfsberger AC since he was signed in 2021 from WAFA.

He has been in the books of Ghana coach Otto Addo for a debut call-up to the Black Stars in the upcoming games of the West African nation.
