The German giants have resigned to losing their promising teenager of Ghanaian descent after making his intention clear to leave them upon the expiration of his current deal

Bundesliga side FC Köln have placed a €1m price tag on German-born Ghanaian teenager Justin Diehl, with a transfer deal for his services expected to materialise this summer.

The 18-year-old talented centre-forward has told those in charge of the cologne-based club that he doesn't see his future at the RheinEnergieStadion after rejecting contract extension terms on countless occasions.

German tabloid Bild has reported that, FC Köln are now willing to sell their prized asset at the aforementioned fee in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer next season when his current deal expires.

Club's manager Steffen Baumgart recently confirmed that the Ghanaian rising star has turned down contract extension advances as he made his intention clear to move on following his demotion to the reserve team ahead of the 2023/24 season.

"Justin informed us that he doesn’t see his future at FC. We showed him a clear sporting perspective and he decided against this perspective.” the German tactician told Cologne-based Newspaper Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger

Fellow elite division side Bayer 04 Leverkusen are believed to be tracking the teenage sensation and are now to cough up 1 million euros to land him this summer.

The Koln-born promising star is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the Germany U-16, U-18 & U-19 national youth teams.
