Former FC Samartex 1996 defender Samuel Tetteh Mensah has joined Albanian club KF Vllaznia after spending three years with the Ghana Premier League side.
The right-back moves to Europe after helping Samartex become one of Ghana’s top teams and win their first Ghana Premier League title.
Mensah played 18 league games for Samartex last season, bringing his total to 74 appearances in three seasons after joining the club from Tema Youth FC.
His strong performances and solid defending made him an important player for Samartex during his time at the club.
Mensah was also part of the Samartex team that won the Premier League title, a major success that made the Timber Giants more popular in Ghanaian football.
His move to KF Vllaznia offers him an opportunity to test himself in a new football environment and gain experience in European competition.
Based in Shkodër, Vllaznia compete in the Kategoria Superiore; which is Albania’s top division and are among the country’s established football clubs.
Mensah will now aim to settle in quickly in Albania and use his Ghana Premier League experience as he starts a new chapter in his career.
