Former Asante Kotoko defender Habib Mohammed has sealed a transfer to Iraqi side Al Naft SC, strengthening their squad for the remainder of the season.

The 28-year-old centre-back completed the switch from local rivals Al Hashd Club during the transfer window, bringing with him valuable experience from spells across Africa.

Al Naft confirmed the signing in an official announcement, highlighting the defender’s profile and recent performances.
“New signing. Al-Naft Club has signed Ghanaian player Mohammed Habib from Al-Hashd Club. Born: 1997 (28 years old). Position: Defender, Center Back. Height: 1.82m. He performed well with Al-Hashd Club,” the club stated.

Mohammed is expected to play an important role as Al Naft push through the second half of the campaign, with his versatility and experience seen as key additions to the team.

Before moving abroad, the defender featured for AshantiGold SC and Asante Kotoko in Ghana. He later continued his career in South Africa with Sekhukhune United, before spells in Ethiopia with Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, Adama City FC, and Fasil Kenema.
