Ghanaian footballers Razak Abalora and Patric Kpozo have achieved a remarkable double with their club FC Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova.
The duo played pivotal roles as Sheriff Tiraspol emerged victorious in the Moldovan Cup final against CSF Balti over the weekend. The match ended in a goalless draw, leading to a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
Abalora, the former goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko, displayed exceptional skills and became the hero of the shootout, helping his team secure a 7-6 victory on penalties.
This triumph in the Moldovan Cup adds to Sheriff Tiraspol's previous success in winning the Moldovan League title, completing an impressive double for the club.
Both Abalora and Kpozo have been integral members of the Sheriff Tiraspol squad throughout the season, contributing to their success in domestic competitions.
As a result of their league triumph, Sheriff Tiraspol will have the opportunity to represent Moldova in the prestigious UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season.
While Abalora has been absent from the Ghana national team in recent times, Kpozo earned a call-up and featured in the squad for the doubleheader against Angola in March.
