Angers are considering making a move for Vitória de Guimarães centre-back Khalid Abdul Mumin as they bid to bolster their defense before the transfer window closes, Kickgh.com has been reliably informed.
The French club are anxious to add to their defensive options having only brought in Miha Blažič and Béninois centre-back Cédric Hountondji from French club Clermont Foot.
The Black and Whites are looking for a central defender who is smart and has an attcking mindset, Kickgh.com has learned that they are doing their homework on the Portuguese-based Ghana international Mumin.
Mumin has 2 years left on his current deal at Estádio D. Afonso Henriques and sources close to the player have indicated he would like the chance to play in France – something that eluded him during his long stint at FC Nordsjælland four years ago.
Sources have told Kickgh.com that the 24-year-old, who is now an hot-cake, feels he needs to play in one of the major leagues in Europe this season and is ready for a move.
However a number of clubs are showing an interest in the former Right to Dream guardsman, including Leicester and Lyon have also registered an interest, but Angers are leading the race to land the teenager who is valued at £12 million (€14,189,424.74), but are willing to shell-out a fee not above €4 million which they think could suit both parties.
