Ghana international Alexander Djiku was given the captains armband by Racing Strasbourg boss Julien Stéphan in their Ligue 1 match against PSG on Wednesday night.
The fleet-footed centre-back was initially penciled to miss the game after been handed a one-match suspension over a betting scandal, but the ban was lifted on Tuesday.
Djiku, 28, was cleared due to a successful appeal made by his club to the French Football Federation.
The Black Stars defender was among 76 players, coaches and team officials who were mentioned following an investigation by the Professional Football League (LFP) for their involvement in betting during the 2020-21 season and was subsequently banned for one match.
Djiku has made 14 appearances this season, scoring one goal and grabbing one assist for the Blue-and-Whites.
He was pivotal in defense for the away side as he enjoyed the majority of possession and territory, as he played full throttle against PSG in their 2-1 defeat at the Parc des. Princes stadium in Paris.
