Ghana international Alidu Seidu sustained a fresh injury in Clermont Foot away victory over ES Troyes in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Seidu was forced out of Clermont Foot's important away win with an injury on the 88th minute which got him replaced by Florent Ogier.

The 22-year-old returned to action last weekend against AC Ajaccio after spending almost six weeks in the treatment room with a knee injury.

The versatile defender is expected to undergo a mandatory medical examination on Monday to know the extent of the fresh injury.

He underwent a knee operation which forced him out of Chris Hughton's squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Angola last month.

Seidu has made 23 appearances for Clermont Foot across all competitions this season so far.

He became Ghanaians favourite defender after a scintillating performance in the Black Stars' shirt at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Seidu has capped six times for the senior national team of Ghana since making debut against Japan in an international friendly last year.
