Ghanaian forward Kwasi Okyere Wriedt is poised to depart Holstein Kiel as the club aims to offload him before their inaugural season in the German Bundesliga.

Wriedt, 29, had an underwhelming loan spell at Osnabrück last season, featuring in only 24 games and managing just one goal and one assist.

Out of these appearances, he started in only 10 matches, struggling to make a significant impact with the newly-promoted Osnabrück in Germany's second tier. Osnabrück finished the season at the bottom of the league, resulting in their relegation to the third tier.

Meanwhile, in Wriedt's absence, Holstein Kiel finished second in the Bundesliga 2, earning automatic promotion to the Bundesliga.

With only one year remaining on his contract, which expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, Holstein Kiel is not considering another loan option for Wriedt due to his contract situation, according to kicker.
