Ghanaian international Abu Francis has arrived in France as he prepares to complete a transfer to Ligue 1 side Toulouse from Belgian club Cercle Brugge.

The 24-year-old midfielder landed in Toulouse on Sunday night and is scheduled to undergo a medical in the coming days before finalising a permanent move. The deal would mark the end of his two-year stint in Belgium, where he made over 60 league appearances, netting once and managing seven assists.

Abu, a product of Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy, began his professional career with FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark before moving to Cercle Brugge in 2022.

The silky midfielder attracted interest from several European clubs during the summer window, including Turkish sides Basaksehir and Trabzonspor, as well as Burnley, Genoa, and Torino. However, following talks with the Toulouse coaching staff last week, Francis opted for a move to the French top flight.

He made his senior debut for Ghana in March 2024 and has since earned five caps for the Black Stars.

Toulouse are expected to confirm the signing once medical tests are completed.
