After a warmish start to the 2022–23 Turkish Süper Lig campaign, Sivasspor midfielder Isaac Cofie finally donned his goal-scoring regalia in Saturday’s match against Adana Demirspor.
Cofie, has featured in just seven matches after 22 games this season, was a starter in Rıza Çalımbay’s starting lineup for the weekend’s clash at New Malatya Stadium, due to the ongoing grass work on the pitch of Sivas 4 Eylül Stadium.
The 31-year-old created a number of opportunities in the first half but failed to jolt in as the Braves carried a 2–0 defeat into the locker room. Following the recess, it didn’t take long for the Ghanaian midfielder to break through.
In the 63rd minute, Cofie streaked forward just outside of the box, receiving a pass from Ivorian star Max Gradel, freeing up Cofie to lash in the ball home.
The goal marked Cofie’s first goal in seven appearances to start a rowdydowdy Süper Lig season at Sivasspor this campaign.
