Ghana young centre-forward Abdul Aziz Yakubu opened his season goal scoring account in Rio Ave away stalemate with G.D Estoril Praia in the Portuguese top-tier league on Friday.
Rio Ave managed to hold G.D Estoril Praia to a 2-2 draw in their match-week three fixture at the Antonio Coimbra da Mota Stadium.
Rodrigo Martins fetched the opener for the hosts on the 6th minute before Costinha levelled for Rio Ave with his strike on the 61st minute of the game.
The 20-year-old, born in Tamale, brilliantly gave Rio Ave a 2-1 lead on 72nd minute but a late goal scored by Tiago Gouveia ended the fixture in a two-all draw.
Aziz Yakubu was replaced by his teammate Leonardo Ruiz after enjoying 76 minutes of the game action.
He joined Rio Ave on permanent basis after a successful loan spell last term where he aided them to secure a top-tier promotion.
Aziz Yakubu was signed by Rio Ave until the summer of 2025 from Vitoria Guimaraes in a deal worth one million euros (€1m)
