Former Chelsea and Black Stars midfielder, Michael Essien has finally completed his UEFA License A course, player affirmed on Twitter earlier today.

He now has both the UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth A License, which now makes him eligible to coach at the highest level of football in different countries worldwide.

The 40 year old called it a quit from football in 2020 and had his last playing spell with Azerbaijani topflight side Sabail FK.
 
He joined Danish giants FC Nordsjaelland technical team right after, where he worked with the club's various academies obefore he subsequently got drafted into the coaching staff of the senior team.
 
The 2006 BBC African footballer of the year, has finally announced on his official social media handle that, he feels very elated for such a huge step in his managerial career. 
 
"Step by step, I am learning and growing as a coach. Happy to have completed my UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth A license. Thanks to the family, @fawales,  my tutors, my mentor and RTD/FCN for the support. And big thank you to Tom Vernon and Flemming Pedersen for giving me the opportunity to work in the RTD/FCN organisation, I am looking forward to continue developing on and off the pitch. On to the next Course."
