Ghanaian young forward Emmanuel Mensah opened his goal-scoring account for Sogndal Fotball in his debut game against Raufoss IL in the Norwegian second-tier league on Monday.

The 19-year-old, who arrived at the Norwegian club this summer from Ghanaian Division One League side Koforidua Sempre Fi, made his debut with a goal in Sogndal Fotball's 4-1 away loss to Raufoss IL in their match-week 21 fixture at the Nammo Stadion.

Two first-half quick goals from Sander Nordboe and two-goal hero Erlend Hustad in the 10th and 16th minutes, respectively, handed the hosts a 2-0 lead into the break.

Mensah brilliantly reduced the deficit for Sogndal Fotball with a fine drive in the 67th minute of the game.

Erlend Hustad and Sander Nordboe scored in the 76th and 88th minutes, respectively, to complete Raufoss IL's 4-1 resounding victory at home.

Mensah enjoyed the entire duration of the game, with former Ghana U23 skipper Isaac Twum coming off from the bench in the 68th minute for Sogndal Fotball.

Former Great Olympics defender Jamal Deen Haruna also featured for the full duration for Raufoss IL with a standout performance, while Yaw Agyeman and James Ampofo made cameo appearances.

Mensah was a member of the Ghana U20 team that won the 2023 African Games.
