Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has been named Stade Rennais’ Player of the Month for September, beating out teammates Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo for the award.
The Ghanaian international earned the highest number of votes from the club’s fans, succeeding August winner Amine Gouiri.
Seidu's exceptional form in September saw him feature in all four matches for the Red and Blacks, solidifying his importance in the squad. The versatile defender ranks among Rennes’ top performers, placing third in the team for interceptions and earning a spot in Ligue 1’s top 20 for ground duels won.
Since joining Stade Rennais from Clermont Foot in January, the JMG Academy graduate has been a vital part of the team, making six appearances in Ligue 1 this season. Seidu’s defensive contributions, particularly in blocks and duels, have garnered praise from fans and experts alike.
The 24-year-old will look to continue his impressive form as Rennes prepare to face AS Monaco on Saturday before heading into the October international break.
