The 26-year-old lateral stopper of Ghanaian origin is set to seal a move to the German second tier side ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window
Bundesliga 2 side FC Schalke 04 are closing in on German-born Ghanaian defender Anton Donkor, a report from the German media has claimed.
The former Everton U23 loanee man, who has so far enjoyed a breakthrough season with fellow lower division outfit Eintracht Braunschweig, will be severing ties with his current employers as his deal is set to expire in June this year.
However, The Royal Blues are set to benefit from his signing over a free transfer deal, with terms between both parties already ironed out ahead of his imminent move to Veltins-Arena this summer.
Donkor has so far netted 2 and assisted 2 across all league games for Eintracht Braunschweiger in the ongoing 2. Bundesliga season.
He still remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Germany U18 & U20 national youth teams.
