The Magpies are reportedly plotting a move for the 22-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent in a bid to land his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window
Premier League heavyweight Newcastle United are eyeing the services of English-born Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah, a report from the English media has indicated.
The promising centre-back, who is currently on the books of fellow English giants Liverpool, is now a wanted man at the St. James' Park and are looking forward to beefing up their backline options with his signing in the summer.
Per London-based newspaper The Times, Newcastle are confident of striking a deal with Liverpool in a transfer deal worth €36m plus bonuses over the services of the Ghana-prospect guardsman for the 2025-26 campaign.
The report added that the current EFL Cup champions see the 22-year-old as the ideal man to reinforce their backline department given his defence mechanism at the heart of defence on the field of play.
With Quansah's deal set to expire in 2029, it remains to be seen whether the Merseyside club will entertain any offer from his current suitors in order to part ways with him in the summer having rose through their youth ranks so far in his career.
He has been involved in 22 games for Liverpool across all competitions in this ongoing 2024-25 football campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage albeit playing for the England national youth teams.
