The 32-year-old defender is trialing with the Swedish top-flight outfit and could be offered a lifeline over his career if he excels at the end of his training sessions
Ghanaian centre-back Joseph Boffoe is undergoing trials with Allsvenskan side IFK Värnamo as he bids to secure a deal for the 2025 football season.
The ex-Helsingborgs IF defender remains unattached since leaving Halmstads BK following the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Nonetheless, Boffoe confirmed his trials with his former employers as he looks forward to reuniting with them this summer, telling newspaper Värnamo Nyheter: ''I'm home and asked if I could train with the team and they were kind and invited me.'' He added when asked whether there could be a reunion with his former side:''Haha.. we'll see what comes up.''
He has a vast experience in football competitions having had spells with IFK Värnamo, Helsingborgs IF, Vålerenga, Halmstads BK, Eintracht Braunschweig and MSV Duisburg so far in his career.
The Ghanaian-born defender still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage having featured for the Swedish national youth teams.
