Ghanaian forward Benjamin Tetteh delivered a match-winning performance on Friday, September 19, scoring twice to inspire NK Maribor to a 3-2 triumph over Aluminij in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.

The 28-year-old striker struck in both halves to secure all three points for Maribor, a result that lifted them to second place on the league table after nine matches.

After Gregor Sikošek opened the scoring in the 26th minute, Tetteh doubled Maribor’s advantage ten minutes later with a composed finish. Aluminij briefly threatened a comeback when Saitoski converted a penalty early in the second half, but Tetteh responded swiftly in the 53rd minute to restore the two-goal cushion.

Aluminij’s Bloudek reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute, setting up a nervy finish, but Maribor held firm to secure their fifth league victory of the season.

Tetteh’s brace took his tally to seven goals in nine league appearances this season, alongside three assists, underscoring his growing influence at the club.

With the win, Maribor move to 17 points, narrowing the gap to five points behind leaders Celje as they continue their pursuit of the PrvaLiga crown.
