It was a typical Thursday night for Christopher Bonsu Baah, who climbed off the bench to star in KRC Genk's 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina.

The winger was not back to goals but put in an active shift - firing the assist for Congolese star Joris Kayembe to break the deadlock of the match.

Fiorentina, however, equalised at the death of the first half through defender Lucas Martínez Quarta, and then Nicolás González added to it with a penalty at the 82nd minute that sealed the win for the home side in front of their fans.

Baah on countless occasions rolled into stupendous performance, but ultimately wasn't enough for him to find the back of the net against the Italians.

Baah's compatroits Joseph Paintsil and Alfred Duncan were in action for Genk and Fiorentina, respectively.

The Belgian club are now manning the third position in Group F of the competition with six points.
