Joseph Paintsil, the talented Ghanaian winger, has been recognized and honored for his exceptional performances and contributions to Belgian club KRC Genk during the 2022-23 football season.

Acknowledging his outstanding efforts, Paintsil was awarded as one of the top three performers for Genk across all competitions last season. The prestigious awards were presented at the Cegeka Arena, where he was joined by Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye and Patrik Hrosovsky as the recipients of these coveted accolades, just before the club's last pre-season friendly against Burnley on a Saturday.

In the game against Burnley, Paintsil showcased his skills as a second-half substitute, coming on to replace the young Argentine player, Matias Alejandro Galarza.

Genk secured a 2-0 victory over the English Premier newcomers, with goals from Nigerian duo Yira Sor and Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare in each half.

Throughout the past campaign, the 25-year-old winger displayed superlative form, impressively scoring 18 goals and providing 14 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for Genk.

Paintsil's remarkable performances earned him a nomination for the 2023 Ebony Shoe, an esteemed award given annually to the best African or African-origin player in the Belgian Pro League at the end of each season.

While he missed out on the accolade, teammate Ndayishimiye was recognized as the recipient of the prestigious award.
