Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah played a crucial role in Columbus Crew securing the MLS Eastern Conference title by contributing to the victory over FC Cincinnati in the final.
The former Manchester City winger featured for 76 minutes as Crew mounted an impressive comeback, defeating Cincinnati 3-2 at the TQL Stadium.
FC Cincinnati initially took a two-goal lead in the first half with goals from Brandon Vazquez and MVP Luciano Acosta. However, the Gold and Blacks orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, forcing the game into extra time after Alvas Powell's own goal and a brilliant finish from Diego Rossi with 15 minutes remaining.
In extra time, Christian Ramirez scored the decisive goal, securing Columbus Crew's place in the final of the 2023 Major League Soccer against LA FC.
Yeboah expressed his pride in being part of this memorable journey, stating on Instagram, "God did. MLS Eastern Conference champions 2023."
If Columbus Crew prevails against holders LAFC in the final, Yeboah could join the ranks of MLS Champions alongside players like Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful, and more recently, Latif Blessing and Kwadwo Opoku.
