Ghanaian midfielder David Abagna was on the scoresheet as FC Ordabasy claimed the 2026 Kazakhstan Cup with a commanding 4-1 victory over FC Kaysar in Saturday's final at the Turkestan Arena.

Abagna played a key role in Ordabasy's dominant performance, capping an impressive display with the third goal of the match to help his side lift the prestigious domestic trophy.

The Shymkent-based club made a bright start to the final, taking the lead after just seven minutes through Sultanbek Astanov, who finished off a well-worked attacking move to put Ordabasy in control.

Ordabasy doubled their advantage shortly before the break when Norwegian striker Bjørn Johnsen found the back of the net in the 41st minute, giving his side a comfortable 2-0 lead at half-time.

Abagna put the result beyond doubt in the 60th minute, calmly finishing from close range after being set up by Johnsen to make it 3-0. The goal was the Ghanaian's first of the Kazakhstan Cup campaign and rewarded another influential midfield performance.

Ordabasy continued to dominate proceedings, with Elkhan Astanov adding a fourth goal in the 71st minute to complete an outstanding team display.

FC Kaysar managed a late consolation through Agostinho in the 84th minute, but the goal had little impact on the outcome as Ordabasy comfortably saw out the remaining minutes to secure the trophy.

The triumph marks a memorable achievement for Abagna, who has become an important figure in Ordabasy's squad since joining the club. His goal in the final took his tally to one goal in four Kazakhstan Cup appearances this season.

The cup success also provides a major boost for Ordabasy as they conclude their domestic campaign on a high, with Abagna continuing to enhance his reputation as one of Ghana's standout midfielders playing abroad.
