Ghanaian mi Frank Junior Adjei came off the bench to rescue Hammarby IF from a painful home defeat to RSC Anderlecht in the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League qualifiers on Thursday evening.
Adjei scored a late goal to secure a 1-1 home draw for the Swedish Allsvenskan outfit in the first leg tie of the Europa League qualification round at the Stockholm Arena.
The 22-year-old needed only three minutes to announce his presence in the fixture with an important strike in the 89th minute to settle the match in a one-all draw. He was introduced in the 86th minute to replace Victor Lind.
RSC Anderlecht silenced the 26,689 fans at the Stockholm Arena with an early goal through Danylo Sikan before the former Bibiani Goldstars forwarded levelled the score with a fine strike when he pounced on a low cross from Paulos Abraham to deny the visitors from securing a win.
Adjei has now scored two goals and provided an assist in 13 appearances for Hammarby IF in the ongoing season campaign
