The ex-Hamburger SV midfielder is returning to his parent club following a loan spell with the German second-tier outfit in this just-concluded football season

Ghanaian midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng is teaming up with relegated Bundesliga side VfL Bochum after spending the second-half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The 27-year-old, who had a brighter start at the initial stage of the season, saw his loan stint blighted by a ligament injury and had to return to his mother club, with the Merkur Spiel-Arena outfit failing to exercise their purchase option of making the loan deal permanent at the end of this current campaign.

Kwarteng is expected to return to action in June this year and he is likely to spent the new football season with VfL Bochum in the second division contest following their relegation this term.

He figured in 15 games for Fortuna Düsseldorf across all competitions before he suffered the injury setback during the 2024-25 season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the German-born midfielder remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage as he is yet to be cap-tied by the Die Mannschaft.
