Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim continued his outstanding start to the 2026/27 season by scoring in Slovan Bratislava's 2-1 victory over FK Železiarne Podbrezová in the Slovak Super Liga on Saturday.

The 22-year-old found the back of the net to register his fifth goal in just nine appearances, surpassing his previous best return of four goals in a single season for the Slovak champions.

Ibrahim, who made his sixth league start of the campaign, produced another composed display in midfield and capped it with a crucial goal early in the second half to put Slovan firmly in control.

The visitors had taken the lead four minutes before the interval through Armenian winger Tigran Barseghyan, who finished off a well-worked move created by Nino Marcelli.

Just after the restart, Ibrahim doubled Slovan's advantage with a clinical finish, giving the defending champions a comfortable cushion.

The hosts responded in the 62nd minute when Czech midfielder Ondřej Deml pulled one back for Podbrezová, but Slovan remained disciplined defensively to hold on for all three points.

Ibrahim's strike ultimately proved to be the winning goal as Slovan strengthened their position in the Slovak top flight.

The former Accra Lions midfielder has enjoyed a remarkable rise since joining Slovan Bratislava and recently committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension that keeps him in Slovakia until 2030.

Now in his third season with the Bratislava-based side, Ibrahim has become an increasingly influential figure, combining his energetic midfield displays with a growing eye for goal.

His latest strike not only sets a new personal scoring record but also reinforces his status as one of Ghana's most in-form players abroad.

With plenty of matches still to be played this season, the Black Stars midfielder will be hoping to build on his impressive form and continue playing a key role in Slovan Bratislava's pursuit of domestic success while strengthening his case for a regular place in Ghana's national team.
