Gokulam Kerala striker Elshaddai Acheampong is set to join Atletico Madrid Femenino, Kickgh.com has been reliably informed.
The 18-year-old's time with the Malabarians is set to come to an end, and it looks like the goal scoring supremo will be moving to Spain, with your favorite football outlet Kickgh can authoritatively disclose that she is about to join the Spanish women's football team on a bumper transfer deal.
Kickgh understands that a number of clubs were interested in signing Acheampong, including top French and Turkish clubs. But the Ghanaian international is apparently interested in joining Atletico Madrid Femenino. And barring a last minute reversal, she will be playing for Oscar Fernández’s side next season.
Sources have told Kickgh that talks are ongoing between the Las Rojiblancas and the forward's representatives over a long-term contract, with Gokulam hoping to reach a satisfactory agreement to close the deal as soon as possible rather than let her run down the final months of her contract.
The former Police Ladies striker enjoyed a productive goalscoring season in the 2021/22 India Women's Premier League, netting 20 times in 11 matches. She also chipped in with a handy chunk of assists.
