The pacey winger has returned to the German Bundesliga outfit after a season-long loan deal at Croatian side HNK Rejika, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.
Ghana youth international Issah Abass has left Croatian top-tier side HNK Rejika to rejoin Bundesliga side FSV Mainz 05 after the end of the 2021/22 season.
The 23-year-old had an incredible season at HNK Rejika after managing to score seven goals and provided three assists in his 37 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Abass has been reunited with his parent club and expected to be part of Mainz 05 pre-season tour scheduled to commence later this month.
He joined FSV Mainz 05 on a five-year deal from Slovenian giants NK Olimpija Ljubljana in 2018 and was previously farmed out to FC Utrecht and FC Twente as part of his development.
His contract with FSV Mainz 05 will expire in the summer of 2023.
