King Faisal Owusu celebrating his goal

Hugely-talented Ghanaian teen forward King Faisal Owusu scored to propel Sao Paulo FC to the next round of the Brazilian Copinha on Saturday evening.

The 19-year-old climbed off the bench to inspire the Sao Paulo FC U20 side to record a 3-2 comeback win over Carajas at the Fonte Luminosa Stadium

Carajas took an early lead with two quick goals from Valdivia and Davi Lucas in the 16th and 19th minute respectively which ended the first half in a 2-0 win for the host.

The Ghanaian youngster was introduced prior to the start of the second half as replacement for Luiz Henrique and his introduction made a significant impact in their comeback victory.

King Faisal Owusu brilliantly reduced the deficit for Sao Paulo FC with a fine finish in the 66th minute before Caio Matheus made it a 2-2 from the spot in the 85th minute.

Sao Paulo FC booked themselves a place to the next stage to battle it out with Ferroviaria on Tuesday courtesy a 87th minute stunning strike from Joao Pedro Palmberg.

Faisal Owusu joined the Brazilian powerhouse in March 2023 on a three year deal from Ghanaian lower-tier side Young Africans Promise Academy for an undisclosed fee.

He had a bright start in the South American nation with the Sao Paulo U20 team in his maiden season, scoring on his debut game before picking up a knee injury which ruled him out of the entire season

Faisal Owusu is yet to represent Ghana at any level and remains eligible to feature for Black Satellites (Ghana male U20 team).
