German-born Ghanaian striker Tone Glenn Küsel Gabriel is quickly hoping to establish himself as a regular starter for Scottish League One side Peterhead.
The Blue Toon's are sitting bottom on the 10-team league with eight points and with Gabriel's versatility upfront - he hopes it can give him an edge when manager David Robertson decides who to keep and entrust the striking position with, after making his debut on Monday in the 0-0 draw stalemate with Montrose.
“I’ve been to a few places, so Scotland is not too far from where I’m used to,” said Gabriel. “I know Daniel (Fosu) from back home so settling in has been pretty easy," Gabriel said.
“Last few years I’ve been playing non-league in England, just staying local and close to family.
“Everywhere you go, you take a bit of their culture and I try to learn new experiences. It’s been pretty decent so hopefully I can bring some of that experience to Peterhead and help them push on," he added.
Gabriel came through the ranks of German club FC St. Pauli, Brentford and Stoke City before signing a three-year deal with Cypriot First Division side Ermis Aradippou FC in July, 2014, but left the club at the end of the season without making a single appearance.
On August 13, 2017, he joined Finnish second-tier side RoPS on a six-month contract. He made his professional debut the following day, but only featured in three further matches before being released.
After another six months of being unattached, Gabriel joined Spanish fourth-tier side Lorca FC on August 24, 2018.
