Dutch-born Ghanaian young attacker Jayden Addai has signed a five-year contract extension with Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar after a fruitful negotiations.

The 18-year-old, who attracted interest from several clubs in Europe including English Premier League giants Manchester United, has officially penned a new deal to keep him at AZ Alkmaar for the next five seasons.

The club's official statement reads “has broken open the ongoing contract of Jayden Addai and extended it long-term. In the AFAS Stadium, the eighteen-year-old winger of Jong AZ signed a new agreement until mid-2028. For Addai, this is his third contract with AZ.”

Addai has been one of the bright spot in the AZ Alkmaar youth team since his arrival at the club in 2016 at age eleven.

He had an incredible campaign for AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League last season where he netted four times in 8 games to held the Red and White to clinch the title.

In this season's campaign, Addai has now scored three goals and provided four assists in 13 appearances for the AZ Alkmaar second team [Jong Alkmaar] in all competitions.

Addai, born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, is eligible to play for Ghana despite representing Netherlands at the youth levels.
