Baba Alhassan has picked up Romanian Superliga Player of the Month award following his standout performance in September for FC Hermannstadt.
The Ghanaian midfielder had competition from couple of players, but the rugged midfield expert came out on top with 84 per cent when a record number of Player of the Month votes were cast in Gazeta Sporturilor official poll.
The determination and pebbles shown by the former Real Valladolid Promesas (reserve side) starlet last month saw him quickly emerge as a fan favourite, and he had the stats to back up his performance which has propelled him to win the much-targeted gong.
Before the international break, the 22-year-old netted two great goals to help the Red and Blacks to defeat UTA Arad 2-1 in the Liga I.
Alhassan has so far scored six goals and provided one assist in 11 games in the league this season.
His head coach, Marius Măldărășanu was adjudged as the coach of the Month for September.
