Ghana international Daniel Kofi Kyereh is set to make a return from his long injury layoff as he is reportedly taking a cautious approach.
The Freiburg attacking midfielder has been sidelined since February 2023 with cruciate ligament injury and missed out the entire 2023/24 season's campaign.
According to Badische Zeitung journalist Nik Staiger, Kyereh is still adhering to a relatively low-intensity training regimen.
On Thursday, the 28-year-old participated in the initial activation segment of training but subsequently retreated to the ergometer.
During the early stages of preparation, Kyereh's activities were primarily confined to the weight room, with occasional running laps.
Kyereh is grappling with the aftermath of a cruciate ligament injury he sustained last year, a setback that occurred merely half a year after his signing.
Prior to his injury, he had managed to secure a spot in Freiburg's starting lineup ten times across various competitions.
