Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana climbed off the bench to score a match-winner to secure a crucial home win over AS Roma in the Italian Serie A on Monday night.

Sulemana's second-half strike ensured Atalanta BC secured its fifth qualification to the UEFA Champions League, having made an appearance in this season's campaign.

Nigerian international Ademola Lookman opened the scoring for the hosts in the 9th minute before Bryan Cristante levelled for Roma in the 32nd minute of the game.

With just two games to end the season, Atalanta BC needed all three maximum points to confirm their qualification for the Champions League next season.

Sulemana, who netted the important goal of the season against AS Roma in today's game, was introduced as a replacement for Mario Pašalić.

The 21-year-old fired the Blue and Black lads to a 2-1 win over AS Roma with a spectacular goal in the 76th minute of the game.

Sulemana has made only seven Serie A appearances for Atalanta BC in this season's campaign so far.
