Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku scored to propel Istanbul Başakşehir to an important home win over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday evening.

Opoku, who enjoyed the full duration of the match, helped the Orange and Blue lad to secure a 1-0 victory over Antalyaspor in their match-week 29 fixture at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium.

The lanky centre-back secured all the three maximum points for Istanbul Başakşehir with a powerful header from a corner-kick effected by Deniz Turuc in the stoppage time.

The 25-year-old has netted four goals and provided one assist in 19 league appearances for Istanbul Başakşehir in his debut season at the club.

Opoku joined Istanbul Başakşehir on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese side FC Arouca.
