Football legend Marco van Basten, has described Ghana's Kudus Mohammed as a better footballer and added he will always pick him over former teammate Antony- who's currently with Manchester United.
The 58 year old played for Ajax during his playing days, also had a sensational spell with AC Milan and the Dutch national team and is a three time Ballon D'or winner (1988, 1989 and 1992). He said;
"I find Kudus a much better football player.
“He has much better technique and knows what he's doing. Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical,”
"The Dutch legend continued, “He is much more of a footballer and more fun to watch, you can place him anywhere on the pitch.”
Kudus Mohammed just a week ago returned to Amsterdam to join his teammates for preseason towards the 2023/24 football season.
The 22 year old exhibited on a stellar performance, contributing significantly to Ajax's 3-0 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk in his first preseason game.
The talented midfielder started the game and made an impact early on, opening the scoring for the Dutch giants with a well-taken penalty in the 19th minute. Not content with just a goal, Kudus turned provider, setting up Steven Bergwijn to score Ajax's second goal in the 32nd minute.
Kudus wasn't done yet; he showcased his goal-scoring prowess once again, finding the back of the net two minutes later after receiving an excellent pass from Steven Bergwijn.
Last season, the Black Stars asset enjoyed a remarkable campaign, netting 18 goals and providing 5 assists across various competitions. As the new season approaches, Kudus aims to continue his impressive form and contribute to Ajax's success once more.
