Black Stars coach Otto Addo has asked Ghanaians to accept his final 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this month.
Addo on Monday, 14th November, 2022 announced his squad list for the West African nation's fourth appearance at the World Cup.
Notable absentees from the final 26-man squad list for the mundial were Crystal Palace ace Jeffrey Schlupp and Belgium based duo Joseph Paintsil and Majeed Ashimeru.
Also, RCD Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu and two goalkeepers namely Jojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori of Charlton Athletic and Orlando Pirates respectively were left out due to injuries.
However, debutants Salis Abdul Samed, Kamal Sowah and two home-based players Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Danlad Ibrahim made the final squad list for the global showpiece.
“It’s just a pity [that not all players can get into the team], but that’s just the way football is,” Addo said during the Press Conference in Accra monitored by Kickgh.com
“I have done my best and I hope everyone would understand just a little bit how we put our team together.”
The Black Stars have opened camp today in Abu Dhabi and will take on Switzerland in a friendly game on November 17 before arriving in Doha on November 19.
Ghana will begin their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against Portugal on November 24 before taking on South Korea and Uruguay in Group H.
