Edson Alvarez sheds light on his bond with Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus, as the former Ajax talents played instrumental roles in West Ham's triumphant performance against Freiburg in the Europa League.

The Mexican not only assisted Kudus with the opening goal but also secured victory with a superb strike just before halftime. Arriving in London during the summer transfer window, both players have steadily integrated into the first team.

Alvarez, explaining his assist to Kudus, revealed their familiarity, stating, “I know Mo very well, so when he ran, I saw him directly so I’m happy for him as well and happy for me for scoring my first goal in this beautiful shirt.”

Reflecting on the team's character and discipline, Alvarez emphasized the significance of the three points, propelling them to the top of the group.

Describing the night as special and magical, Alvarez expressed joy for both Kudus' success and scoring his inaugural goal in West Ham's iconic shirt.

“It’s an important step for all of us, as we showed character, we showed discipline and we showed attitude to play with the ball and I think they are three important points because we are now top of the group,” he told West Ham TV.

Kudus, since joining from Ajax, has contributed seven goals to West Ham's tally.
