A highly anticipated documentary about Athletic Bilbao superstars Inaki Williams and Nico Williams and their remarkable family history premieres on September 20, 2024.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Raul de la Fuente, the hour-long documentary explores the Williams Arthuer family's incredible journey from Ghana to Spain.
The film features the grandfather of Inaki and Nico, the late Mr. George Williams, who shares his emotional experience of waiting over 20 years to reunite with his grandsons in 2022.
The documentary also follows the brothers' first trip to Ghana in 2022, where they visited historic sites such as Lake Volta and Cape Coast Castle.
Inaki and Nico's parents, George and Maria, embarked on a treacherous journey from Ghana to Spain, walking barefoot across the Sahara Desert while Maria was pregnant with Inaki.
Upon arrival, they sought asylum, aided by Catholic priest Inaki Mardones, who became Inaki's godfather.
The documentary features exclusive interviews with Felix Tianta, the Williams brothers' agent, Patricia Morales, Inaki's wife, and the friends and fans of the Williams family.
It will be premiered at the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival on Friday, September 20, 2024 for global viewing.
