Inaki Williams' stunning goal secured Athletic Bilbao' LaLiga rebound with a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas.
The contest which appeared to have boosted Bilbao's hopes of a UEFA Champions League qualification, had both sides demonstrating a general lack of quality in the final third.
However, before the match could have warmed in properly, Bilbao surged forward with a fifth-minute lead through Inaki Williams - who expertly slotted the ball into the net from close-range.
Meanwhile, Las Palmas were unable to build on the momentum of their last two matches, as they were defeated in the Round 33 fixture at the San Mamés on Wednesday night.
Bilbao still occupies the 4th position on 60 points, and are now sixteen points beneath leaders FC Barcelona, who beat Mallorca 1-0 on Tuesday, April 22.
With this win, Bilbao will now aim to focus their attention on their Europa League semi-final showdown with Manchester United, slated for May 1.
