In a heartwarming moment, Athletic Bilbao's Black Stars forward, Inaki Williams, shared his excitement and anticipation of his mother's happiness after his outstanding display in their recent Spanish La Liga clash against Getafe.

Williams, who netted two goals during the match, emphasized his mother's expected joy upon hearing of his accomplishment.

His double strike secured a decisive 2-0 triumph for Bilbao, bolstering their position in fifth place on the league table. Notably, both goals were set up by Williams' brother, Nico, adding a poignant familial touch to the team's victory.

Addressing the Bilbao media post-match, Inaki expressed his contentment with the win, particularly in light of the challenging circumstances that saw two of his teammates receive red cards.

"Today, my mother will be overjoyed. There won't be any squabbles between us (Nico and me) in the locker room. It's an immensely satisfying feeling. We share an exceptional bond. Today, he provided the assists, and perhaps in the next game, it'll be my turn to return the favor," he shared.

Inaki's brace against Getafe brings his tally for the 2023-2024 La Liga season to 11 goals and three assists in 31 appearances. Additionally, his contributions of two goals and two assists in five Copa Del Rey fixtures played a pivotal role in Bilbao's triumphant quest for their first Copa Del Rey title in four decades.
