After announcing his decision to switch nationality from Spain to represent Ghana at the senior level ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Inaki Williams is set to feature for the first-time at the Africa Cup of Nations slated to be hosted in Ivory Coast.
The Athletic Bilbao centre-forward has been included in Ghana's final squad list for the 34th edition of the continental showpiece scheduled for January 13 to February 11, 2024.
Williams is currently the best attacker in Hughton's team with a remarkable goal-scoring form of netting eight goals and providing three assists in 18 matches for Athletic Bilbao in this season's campaign.
He has scored one goal in his 13 appearances for Ghana since making his debut in 2022 against Brazil in an international friendly.
The Black Stars have been scheduled to commence preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Kumasi on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Coach Chris Hughton's side will play the senior national team of Namibia in an international friendly on January 7, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will be based in Cote D'Ivoire nation capital, Abidjan and will begin their Group B campaign against Cape Verde on January 14, 2022.
Ghana will take on record-title holders Egypt in the match-day two on January 18 before they play against Mozambique on January 22, 2022.
