Ghana international, Salis Abdul Samed has dug deep into how he joined RC Lens prior to the start of the 2022/23 season.
The versatile middleman switched to the Gold and Bloods from Clermont Foot in the last summer transfer window after impressive display with the Lancers a season prior.
He's been an integral figure of the team since his arrival and has now established himself as a mainstay and one of the fans favourite at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
He's made 35 appearances in all competitions with a goal and assist to his belt marking a very great first season for him at Lens.
In an interview, the mercurial midfielder stated he was contacted by the coach and was also very interested in joining since he was in love with their style and believes he could adapt very quickly.
“Yes, he [Franck Haise] was the one who called my agents. He was really interested and wanted me to come, so then my agents spoke to the club,” Samed Salis told Get French Football News.
“I wanted to come as well, because I felt it was the club that could allow me to improve and move forward, and I liked their style of play. I picked Lens, but there were other clubs interested as well.”
He will hope to make the Black Stars squad for next month's AFCON qualifier against Madagascar and Central African Republic.
