Crystal Palace young sensation, Jesurun Rak Sakyi has revealed they were disappointed in the defeat against Arsenal last Monday despite working so hard throughout the game.
The Eagles on home soil at the Selhurst Park, lost narrowly to the Gunners thanks to captain Martin Odegaard's 53rd minute penalty The 20 year old was subbed on into the game on the 83rd minute to replace Joel Ward.
He gave his all but couldn't help his team fightback in the game. This was Rak Sakyi's first Premier League start since the final day of the 2021/22 season, and his third in general.
With the club's official website, the mercurial winger said they weren't really lucky against the giants despite playing their hearts out but will put that behind them and focus on their subsequent matches.
"We’re disappointed not to get the three points, but the team played well and we’re just happy that we worked hard and fought for the club.
“They were in a deep block and we knew it was going to be a difficult ask with the quality of players they have. At the end of the day, it wasn’t our day.
“It’s always going to be difficult when you’ve got 10 men behind the ball. It’s on us to keep patient and try and break through that line of defence. It was really difficult – we just couldn’t get the goal.
“We’ve just got to move on and hopefully we get the next win on Saturday.”
Crystal Palace will travel to Brentford in the next round of Premier League matches on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
