Dependable Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo made his return from the 2022 World Cup with a goal as Celta Vigo marched into the Round of 32 of the Copa Del Rey in a 3-0 hammering of an outclassed Gernika Club on Thursday night.
The 27-year-old defended deeply and frustrated the Spanish Segunda División side as they controlled both halves at the Urbieta Udal Kiroldegia Stadium in Guernica.
Spanish right-winger Carles Pérez scored the opener in the 31st minute as they caved in before the break.
Aidoo smashed home with his head in the 55th minute after Franco Cervi high corner-kick went his way to make it two nil.
Ruthless Los Celestes continued to dish out an hell-bent punishment though and American midfielder Luca de la Torre climbed off the bench to make it 3-0 to seal the win.
Aidoo has made 14 appearances in the La Liga, winning one Man of The Match award and has featured ones in the Copa del Rey, scoring one goal this season.
